🚨 Scalise: ”They’re Abusing the Filibuster to Choke Up the Legislative Process in the Senate.”

LindellTV’s @alisonintheknow asked House Majority Leader @SteveScalise whether Republicans would support @VP @JDVance presiding over the Senate to enforce a traditional talking filibuster if the SAVE Act stalls.

Scalise argued the Senate has abandoned the filibuster’s original purpose.

“That’s how the Senate used to work… You go speak and talk for 24 hours if you want until you fall down.”

He criticized the modern practice of senators blocking legislation without holding the floor.

“It’s not literally just placing a marker and going home for the weekend.”

Scalise said the current system is preventing Congress from moving legislation forward.
