President Trump says the U.S. will rake in $600 billion in tariff revenue
2025 was a record-breaking year in terms of tariff revenue for the United States, and the president says that this revenue will likely only increase

President Donald Trump on Monday said that the United States was poised to take in a whopping $600 billion in tariff revenue, as the nation braces for a potential decision from the Supreme Court on his authority to utilize this trade tool in business dealings with nations around the world.
“We have taken in, and will soon be receiving, more than 600 Billion Dollars in Tariffs, but the Fake News Media refuses to talk about it because they hate and disrespect our Country, and want to interfere with the upcoming Tariff decision, one of the most important ever, of the United States Supreme Court,” the president said on Truth Social.
The country has thus far brought in at least $195 billion in tariff revenue (in 2025). The nation could certainly generate hundreds of billions more during the president’s remaining three years in office if executive tariff authority, which the president has leveraged through the Emergency Economic Powers Act, is allowed to stand.
The president argued in his statement, “Because of Tariffs, our Country is financially, AND FROM A NATIONAL SECURITY STANDPOINT, FAR STRONGER AND MORE RESPECTED THAN EVER BEFORE. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”
The Supreme Court is expected to decide on the case this year, although it is unclear what the timeline for a decision may be. It could be as early as January or as late as June or July.
As reported by LindellTV, if SCOTUS rules against the president’s authority to levy tariffs on other nations, it opens a can of worms in terms of accounting. Would the billions of dollars in revenue collected in 2025 have to be returned to foreign countries? It seems that such a possibility could have extremely negative consequences for the American economy.
Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett, for example, raised this question in November when listening to oral arguments in the challenge against the president’s tariff powers.
“Would it be a complete mess?” she asked. “…It seems to me like it could be a mess.”
