President Trump teases trading one ‘pool’ for another
In a cheeky Truth Social post, President Donald Trump seemed to float the concept of replacing the James S. Brady Briefing Room in the White House with something else entirely.

President Donald Trump posted a facetious meme on Truth Social over the weekend suggesting that the James S. Brady Briefing Room, which hosts members of the White House press pool, could be swapped out for another type of pool entirely: a swimming pool.
The posted image shows a split between the seats in the briefing room for the “Fake News,” alongside a second image: “FDR Pool,” it reads, with a swimming pool designed and decorated in Trumpian-style white and gold.

The meme is rooted in White House history. The James Brady Briefing Room was originally a White House swimming pool, built during the administration of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. It was later converted into the press room that is well known today.
The president’s cheeky Truth Social post comes on the heels of his very public battle with mainstream media outlets’ ability to access the White House.
In fact, President Donald Trump’s skirmish with the mainstream media has been a tug-of-war of legalities, following the president’s decision in mid-September to ban three major outlets from the White House: CNN, MS NOW, and Politico.
The announcement sparked a legal battle between the outlets and the White House. It also kicked off a short-lived protest from the White House press pool – the traveling press corps that covers the president in close quarters. The protest paved the way for other outlets, like LindellTV, to provide primary pool coverage during last week’s three-day state visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
However, the U.S. White House pool seemed to be largely back in operation as of last Friday, following a federal judge’s decision to pause the administration’s ban on the three outlets, according to the Associated Press.
President Trump’s ire at media outlets is centered on his accusation that they have been publishing “FAKE NEWS” about his administration. “FAKE NEWS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE WHITE HOUSE!!!” he wrote in a statement over the weekend. “IT HAS GONE ON FAR TOO LONG, AT A TREMENDOUS COST TO OUR COUNTRY.
