Another “Allies Welcome” entrant arrested on terror charges in Fort Worth: When do we start to worry?

An Afghan man living in Fort Worth has been arrested and federally charged after allegedly threatening to bomb a Texas city. The case is drawing national attention and scrutiny because the suspect, like the alleged shooter in last week’s National Guard attack in Washington, came to the United States under the resettlement initiative Operation Allies Welcome.
Authorities say the suspect, 30-year-old Mohammad Dawood Alokozay, appeared in a video on social media in which he spoke in Dari about building a bomb, praised the Taliban, expressed his intent “to kill Americans,” and threatened a “suicide attack.”
Using facial-recognition software, agents matched Alokozay’s photo to a driver’s license, traced him to his workplace in Haslet, and arrested him while he was stopped for gas on Nov. 25. He now faces a federal charge for transmitting a threatening communication in interstate commerce.
His arrest came just a day before the shooting of two National Guard troops in Washington by another Afghan evacuee, fueling public debate over the vetting process for arrivals under Operation Allies Welcome.
