A federal appeals court has tossed out a $5 million arbitration award against MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, marking a significant victory for the outspoken businessman and election integrity advocate.
The case centered around Lindell’s “Prove Mike Wrong” challenge, a 2021 initiative that offered a $5 million prize to anyone who could disprove the validity of packet capture data Lindell said came from the 2020 election.
A software expert named Robert Zeidman was later awarded the prize by an arbitration panel, claiming he had debunked the data. Lindell, however, maintained the challenge was misrepresented and filed to vacate the ruling.
U.S. District Judge John Tunheim sided with Lindell, stating that the arbitration panel exceeded its authority and that Zeidman failed to meet the conditions set forth in the original challenge. The judge emphasized that the contest rules clearly required the submission to prove data inaccuracy, not merely raise doubts.
