A surprising confrontation unfolded late Sunday on 14th Street NW when 37-year-old Sean Charles Dunn, an international affairs specialist with the Justice Department, threw a wrapped Subway sandwich at federal law enforcement officers during a tense street encounter.
Dunn, captured on video, is seen berating a group of Metro Transit Police and U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents, yelling obscenities and labeling them “fascists” before flinging the sandwich into an officer’s chest and attempting to flee.
Authorities quickly apprehended Dunn, who allegedly confessed on the spot, saying, “I did it. I threw a sandwich.” U.S. Attorney for D.C., Jeanine Pirro, announced a felony charge for assaulting, resisting, or impeding federal officials, emphasizing a zero tolerance stance toward aggression against law enforcement.
Attorney General Pam Bondi also confirmed Dunn’s dismissal from the Justice Department, stating that such behavior would not be tolerated within the administration. While the incident has become a viral sensation, prompting memes and “hero” labels online, federal authorities continue to treat it as a serious legal offense, underscoring the importance of respect toward public servants.
