Elon Musk renews call for Epstein files release
By Easton Martin | July 3, 2025
Elon Musk added his voice once again to the conversation surrounding the Epstein files. On Thursday, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO replied “Yes” to a post by conservative activist Scott Presler on X, who called for the release of the unredacted Epstein files.
The post marks Musk’s first public comment on the matter since early June, when he claimed that President Donald Trump was named in the sealed files. Musk’s original statement, which was made without supporting evidence, was later deleted. The Justice Department has not confirmed that Trump appears in the documents, and no charges have been brought against him in connection with the Epstein case.
Musk’s engagement with the push to release the Epstein files comes amid a renewed push against the “One Big Beautiful Bill”, as well as his publicized intent to create a new political party.
The renewed attention adds pressure to federal authorities as they face increasing scrutiny over the handling of the Epstein investigation. As of now, no further evidence has surfaced to support Musk’s earlier claim regarding Trump.
