Jury Deliberates after hearing details about “The Club” in Coomer vs Lindell trial

June 14, 2025 June 14, 2025

Jury deliberations are underway in the Coomer vs Lindell trial. Jurors deliberated for 3 hours Friday and have been ordered to return to continue deliberations at 7 am MT Monday.

Eric Coomer (plaintiff) held a high-ranking job at Dominion Voting Machines during the 2020 elections. He is suing Mike Lindell for defamation, along with FrankSpeech, and MyPillow, claiming statements made by Mike Lindell ruined his life.

The backstory was brought out during testimony. It was stated that Coomer made outlandish social media posts about President Donald Trump,  including words of Trump being a fascist, Nazi, and F-tard. Coomer testified, “I look at Facebook as a group of friends sitting around a campfire.” He went on to say, “I speak in hyperbolic language.”

Lindell attorney, Chris Kachouroff asked, “But you don’t feel it’s OK for Mr. Lindell to speak in hyperbolic language?” to which Coomer replied, “I have no opinion on that.”

Coomer is trying to tie in “guilt by association” due to Coomer’s name being brought up at Mike Lindell’s Cyber Symposium in 2021. Lindell was not on stage when Coomer’s name was mentioned.

During testimony, jurors heard that Coomer sent a message saying “I’d love to sue that clown,” referring to Lindell, “Let’s shake the money tree.”

Days later after the Cyber Symposium, Mike Lindell was served a lawsuit while hosting a press conference in Colorado.

At that time, Lindell testified he went on stage telling the crowd he was just served papers by Eric Coomer from Dominion, whom he’d never heard of.

“Eric Coomer, who are you?” Lindell called Coomer a “traitor,” a word used many times in Coomer’s testimony as a threat to Coomer and that it led him to seek counseling.

Coomer testified he’s had to seek counseling. However, Lindell’s attorneys obtained Coomer’s counseling records, which never mentioned Lindell’s name and that the doctor’s notes never mentioned Lindell being discussed in counseling sessions.

Coomer’s testimony also revealed that he had over 20 other lawsuits long before Mike Lindell, most of which are still ongoing.

Kachouroff asked Coomer on the stand, “Your reputation was ruined before Mike Lindell made a statement about you, correct?”

Coomer: “Yes.”

Kachouroff: “Mr. Lindell never made a threat to you, has he?”

Coomer: “Calling me a traitor is a threat.”

The plaintiff’s attorneys brought days’ worth of witnesses to talk about the 2020 election and voting machines.

One plaintiff expert witness, Dr. Alex Halderman, a professor at the University of Michigan, gave long, drawn-out answers. He was asked by Lindell attorney, Chris Kachouroff, about an Alabama election where over 4,000 votes were cast by people 110 years old or older.

Halderman’s response: “So what?”

The courtroom gallery gasped so loudly that the judge had to give a warning.

Lindell testified that Coomer passed him in the hall of the courthouse during trial and called Lindell a “piece of sh*t,” proving Coomer’s poor character.

During closing arguments, Lindell attorney Jennifer DeMaster awakened the courtroom with facts about the 1st Amendment. She called the group of election workers, federal workers, and federal contractors “The Club,” a term used by Coomer on the stand to describe election workers as a close-knit community. This was the theme of her argument.

She said Coomer called President Trump a fascist, a Nazi, and an F-tard.

“The Club is allowed to say those things. Us peasants are not,” saying the everyday American is not in “The Club,” and neither is Mike Lindell.

“The plaintiff can have free speech. But, he (pointing to Lindell) can’t. That’s the double standard from ‘The Club,’” she said.

DeMaster went on to say the jury heard a “throne of lies” from the plaintiff’s witnesses and that “Mike Lindell is a man who showed concern after the 2020 election. So he looked into it. He hired countless people. He’s an honest man,” she said.

She reminded jurors that Coomer had lawsuits pending against others, well before suing Lindell.

Mike Lindell testified 3 days during the trial. He said this case is “lawfare” and “blocking”—an effort to destroy companies and get money.

“He sued me for no reason,” Lindell testified, “It’s disgusting. I didn’t do anything to you, sir.”

Lindell told reporters Friday that no matter the verdict, he will never stop fighting for our country and for secure elections.
