President Donald Trump is ending the year with a 50-percentile approval rating among Americans, putting to rest doom-and-gloom hustlers on social media and proving that the administration’s work is resonating with a majority of the country.
According to new nationwide data from InsiderAdvantage, President Trump’s job performance is seen as positive by 50 percent of the country, following the president’s address to the nation last Wednesday.
InsiderAdvantage pollster Matt Towery noted that the president’s approval rating rebounded after an unusual dip in November (44 percent). This month’s survey represents a six-point uptick.

“The improvement came from numerous demographics including and most importantly independent voters,” Towery analyzed. “His support among younger voters rose, as did his support among female voters.”
The pollsters’ data also found that 9 percent of respondents are “undecided” about the president’s job performance as the 2026 midterms loom right around the corner.
“This tells us that some voters, particularly independents, remain unsure as to [Trump’s] accomplishments so far. This suggests he has work to do as he and the GOP enter the midterm season,” Towery said.
This upswing in support for the president likely comes as a result of signs of economic relief. For example, gas has broadly dropped to under $3 per gallon nationwide, and core inflation has cooled significantly, dropping to its lowest point since March 2021 when Joe Biden was in office.
The Trump administration has also publicly projected that next year’s tax season will supposedly yield the biggest tax refunds ever, to the tune of $91 billion nationwide in refunds, along with $30 billion staying in Americans’ pockets from reduced withholdings, per the White House.
President Trump has also posed the idea of sending “tariff checks” to Americans next year out of the abundance of tariff-generated revenue, thanks to his trade policy negotiations with foreign countries. These checks would likely be about $2,000 and would affect families making less than $100,000 annually, according to Treasury Secretary Doug Burgum.
These potential checks would be similar to Covid-era stimulus payments and would need approval from Congress.
