News | By Easton Martin | August 7, 2025
Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin are expected to meet in the coming days, according to Kremlin adviser Yuri Ushakov. Preparations are underway, and a location has been agreed upon, with reports indicating the meeting may take place in the United Arab Emirates. However, the official venue has not yet been publicly confirmed.
This would be the first in-person summit between the two leaders since 2021.
U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff recently held discussions with President Putin in Moscow, laying the groundwork for the meeting. The upcoming talks are expected to address efforts to negotiate a ceasefire in Ukraine.
The White House has indicated that the summit will only proceed if Putin also agrees to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. A potential three-way session could follow the initial bilateral talks.
Further details, including the exact date and agenda, are expected to be announced soon.
