President Trump predicts ‘THE END OF AMERICA’ if Republicans don’t do THIS
President Trump has not been shy about pushing Republicans in the Senate to terminate the filibuster. So far, lawmakers have heavily resisted. Now, as the midterms, and an October recess, get closer, the president is applying pressure again.

With the U.S. House recessed until after the midterms and the U.S. Senate set to do the same in early October, President Donald Trump is pressuring Republicans in the U.S. Senate to pass critical legislation before it’s too late.
“If Senate Republicans don’t TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER, the Dumocrats will, and I will be, despite how well our Party is doing, the last Republican President!” President Trump wrote on Truth Social on Monday.
This is not the first time the president has predicted disaster if lawmakers don’t “nuke” the filibuster – a move that would allow Republicans to quickly pass key legislation, like the SAVE America Act, with a simple majority vote.
As reported by LindellTV, nuking the filibuster would set a new senatorial precedent and would terminate cloture (60 votes, a supermajority requirement). It would effectively give Republicans the ability to pass legislation with their tiny majority.
However, lawmakers have often shied away from this, fearing that Democrats would use the same strategy to ram through their party’s legislation when it takes power. President Trump has repeatedly argued that Democrats are planning to nuke the filibuster anyway the next time they gain the majority – which could happen in a matter of weeks, depending on how the midterm elections play out.
“The Dumocrats will vote in Puerto Rico (4% Republican Vote), and Washington, D.C. (3% Republican Vote), pick up 4 Senators, 8 Congressmen/women, tremendous numbers of Popular and Electoral College Votes and, importantly, control the Voting Mechanisms and Systems, both Legal and otherwise, throughout the United States,” Trump warned in his Monday statement.
The president also said it would be “impossible for Republicans to ever win an Election again.” He called such a scenario “THE END OF AMERICA!”
Since 2025, Republicans have had a very thin majority in both chambers of the U.S. Congress, but as the 2026 midterms approach, predictions are varied on whether the GOP can maintain control in one or both chambers.
Prediction betting market Polymarket’s odds on Monday showed a 62 percent chance of Democrats taking the Senate majority in November and a 91 percent chance of Democrats taking the House majority.
