Amid speculation and chatter from the mainstream media about his health, President Donald Trump provided proof on Monday that he is as healthy as ever and fit to serve as Commander-in-Chief of the United States.
The physician’s memorandum, delivered by Dr. Sean P. Barbabella, explained the MRI results from the president’s imaging tests conducted in October.
Barbabella said the president had both cardiovascular and abdominal imaging performed, and noted that both tests returned “perfectly normal.”
He described the president’s health as “excellent” and said that everything evaluated “is functioning within normal limits with no acute or chronic concerns.”
Barbabella concluded that the level of assessment for the president was “standard for an executive physical at President Trump’s age and confirms that he remains in excellent overall health.”
This memorandum was released just a week after The New York Times ran a story on the president detailing alleged fatigue and potential health issues in President Trump.
The article drew the president’s wrath. He scorched the journalist who penned the piece, Katie Rogers, as “third rate” and “ugly, both inside and out.”
“There will be a day when I run low on Energy, it happens to everyone, but with a PERFECT PHYSICAL EXAM AND A COMPREHENSIVE COGNITIVE TEST (‘That was aced’) JUST RECENTLY TAKEN, it certainly is not now!” the president said.
The newest MRI results from his physician came after he said on Sunday that he would be making them available to the public. According to PBS, the president told reporters, “If you want to have it released, I’ll release it.”
And, in a somewhat humorous exchange with reporters aboard Air Force One, the president claimed that he had “no idea” what part of the body his MRI was performed on, but added, “It wasn’t the brain, because I took a cognitive test and I aced it. I got a perfect mark, which you would be incapable of doing.”
While speculation about the president’s health is perfectly natural, given the reality that he is the oldest American president to be elected to office, he has also been remarkably transparent about providing medical information to the press, which is more than can be said for his predecessor.
