Trump admin hits back at Gavin Newsom
President Trump scorches Gavin Newsom’s ‘absolutely horrible job’ managing Los Angeles amid ongoing riots

President Donald Trump took action over the weekend to lock down the violent riots unfolding in the city of Los Angeles, California, taking aim at “Illegal Aliens and Criminals” attempting to halt federal deportation operations by signing a presidential memorandum deploying thousands of U.S. National Guardsmen.
“I am directing Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and Attorney General Pam Bondi, in coordination with all other relevant Departments and Agencies, to take all such action necessary to liberate Los Angeles from the Migrant Invasion, and put an end to these Migrant riots,” the president wrote in a statement on Sunday.
Americans nationwide have seen video footage on social media of the riots taking place in the City of Angels as protestors have violently burned vehicles, waved foreign flags, and even desecrated the American flag.
“California’s feckless Democrat leaders have completely abdicated their responsibility to protect their citizens. That is why President Trump has signed a Presidential Memorandum deploying 2,000 National Guardsmen to address the lawlessness that has been allowed to fester,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated over the weekend.
California Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom moved to blame President Donald Trump for the rise in urban violence in his state over the weekend, writing on X that the 47th president had “manufactured a crisis and is inflaming conditions.”
“If he can’t solve it, we will,” Newsom wrote.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, President Trump slammed Newsom in a Truth Social post Sunday night, calling out the California Governor and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass for doing an “absolutely horrible job” as leaders.
“These are not protestors, they are troublemakers and insurrectionists,” Trump pointed out. “Remember, NO MASKS!”
Karoline Leavitt also hit back at Newsom’s claims, noting that Newsom “did nothing as violent riots erupted in Los Angeles for days.”
“The Los Angeles Police Chief has even said the riots were getting out of hand. President Trump has stepped in to maintain law and order and protect federal buildings,” she argued.
During an interview with MSNBC on Sunday night, Gov. Newsom doubled down on his criticisms of Trump’s actions and said he would sue the Trump administration for deploying the National Guard.
