President Trump announces U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites
The United States launched coordinated airstrikes on three major Iranian nuclear sites late Friday. The strikes targeted Iran’s Fordow and Natanz enrichment facilities, as well as the Isfahan uranium conversion center.
President Trump confirmed the operation, calling it “very successful” in a statement on Truth Social.

U.S. officials said the strikes involved B-2 stealth bombers and submarine-launched Tomahawk missiles. All U.S. forces returned safely, and no American casualties were reported.Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization confirmed the attacks and condemned them as a violation of international law. Despite the damage, Tehran stated that its nuclear program would continue. The Iranian government is expected to issue a broader response soon.
The strike follows nine days of escalating conflict between Israel and Iran. Israeli forces had already targeted several Iranian military sites prior to the U.S. involvement. While the White House said regime change is not the objective, officials warned Iran not to retaliate or threaten American personnel.
International reaction has been swift, with global leaders urging restraint. Oil prices jumped nearly 8 percent after news of the strikes broke. U.S. lawmakers are also raising questions about whether the president acted within his authority by ordering military action without congressional approval.
This marks the first direct U.S. attack on Iranian nuclear infrastructure and signals a sharp turn in the region’s conflict. Further escalation now depends on how Iran chooses to respond.
