First Lady Melania Trump hosted a meeting of the White House Task Force on Artificial Intelligence Education today, bringing together task force members and private sector leaders to discuss the future of AI learning in America.
In her remarks, Mrs. Trump called artificial intelligence one of the most significant growth areas of the Trump Administration, predicting it could become “the greatest engine of progress in the history of the United States.” She emphasized that while AI holds vast promise, it must be guided responsibly, comparing its early development to raising children with both empowerment and careful oversight.
The meeting marked the second gathering of the task force since President Donald J. Trump signed an executive order in April establishing a national initiative to advance AI education for American youth. Leaders from across industry joined to highlight more than 135 commitments made to support AI education nationwide.
The First Lady has positioned herself as a leading advocate for child safety and education in the digital age. Her BE BEST initiative helped pave the way for the bipartisan TAKE IT DOWN Act earlier this year. She also recently launched the Presidential Artificial Intelligence Challenge, encouraging students and educators to explore AI innovation.
