LindellTV’s @alisonintheknow asked Sen. Josh Hawley why @OpenAI CEO Sam Altman (@sama) did not appear at Wednesday’s Senate hearing examining AI risks, and whether he should be subpoenaed.

“I would love to subpoena him, but it shouldn’t be necessary.”

@HawleyMO says he believes Altman “doesn’t want to answer questions” about what’s happening inside OpenAI, arguing the race to develop increasingly powerful AI is leading companies to cut corners.

“If you cut corners and bad things happen, you’re going to pay for it.”
