The House of Representatives passed President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” in a Thursday afternoon session.
The bill passed with 218 votes in favor and 214 against. Notable “no” votes on the Republican side included Reps. Thomas Massie (Ky.) and Brian Fitzpatrick (Pa.).
The passage of the bill marks a major victory for Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (La.), who was able to flip a number of possible “no” votes.
Ultimately, the bill was not changed from the Senate version, despite calls for amendments from several moderate and conservative representatives.
The conclusion of the vote was followed by cheers and a “USA” chant from a significant number of House members.
The bill now moves to the president’s desk, where it awaits his signature.
