Bondi fields question regarding Epstein as Trump dismisses it

At today’s White House Cabinet meeting, President Donald Trump sharply dismissed questions concerning convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and offered full support for Attorney General Pam Bondi amid renewed scrutiny.
When a reporter asked Bondi about recent revelations in the Epstein investigation, Trump interrupted. He said:
“Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein? This guy’s been talked about for years… We have Texas, we have this, we have all of the things, and are people still talking about this guy, this creep? That is unbelievable.” He suggested the questioning was inappropriate given the nation’s pressing matters, including severe flooding in Texas.
Bondi then answered, clarifying earlier comments she made in a February Fox News interview. She had said a “client list” was “sitting on my desk to be reviewed,” and now explained she meant the general case file that also included JFK and MLK materials. She emphasized that no actual “client list” exists.
On the issue of a missing minute from surveillance footage of Epstein’s death, Bondi stated that the gap resulted from a nightly loop-reset of the prison’s video system, not foul play. She said the DOJ plans to release additional evidence to support that explanation.
Bondi also discussed comments she made about “tens of thousands” of videos. She clarified that these are files containing child pornography downloaded by Epstein, not surveillance of others, and reiterated that the evidence supports the official conclusion that Epstein died by suicide in 2019.
Overall, Trump’s remarks appeared aimed at shifting the conversation away from Epstein, while Bondi sought to rectify previous public statements and reinforce the Justice Department’s investigation findings.
In a post on X this afternoon, Elon Musk weighed in on the issue:
Musk has also made clear that bringing the Epstein files to light is a high priority for his America Party.
