Catholics and Muslims vs Protestants and Jews? Why this bizarre alliance is completely misguided
By Easton Martin | April 8, 2026
A recent social media post by Milo Yiannopoulos attempts to manufacture a religious conflict that defies reality. He argues for a bizarre alliance where Catholics and Muslims oppose Protestants and Jews. This claim is fundamentally silly. It disregards the deep-rooted similarities between the two largest branches of Christianity.
Catholics and Protestants worship the same God. They center their faith on the person of Jesus Christ. Both groups believe in the triumph of the resurrection over the forces of darkness. This shared commitment to the Savior creates a natural unity that Milo cannot seem to grasp.
The proposed alignment with other faiths is equally confused. Many Christians rightly recognize Islam as a false religious system. They believe the power of Jesus has already defeated the spiritual errors found in that tradition. A partnership between the Church and Islam contradicts basic Christian doctrine.
The relationship between Christians and the Jewish community also follows a specific spiritual path. Protestants and Catholics view the Jewish people as a mission field. They wish to introduce their neighbors to the Messiah. This is a matter of witness rather than a shared theological team, as Jews do not share the belief in Jesus that defines the Christian life.
Significant theological disagreements will always exist between various denominations. These disputes do not erase the shared status of Catholics and Protestants as followers of Jesus. True religious identity is defined by what one believes about the Son of God. Milo’s vain attempt to rearrange these groups for the sake of a viral post fails to change that ultimate reality.
