Dan Bilzerian fails to unseat Randy Fine in contentious Florida battle

Rep. Randy Fine defeated social media personality Dan Bilzerian in Florida’s Republican primary for the 6th Congressional District, securing roughly 57% of the vote compared with Bilzerian’s approximately 19%. Fine will now advance to the November general election.
The race quickly became one of the strangest contests of the 2026 primary season. Fine, a Jewish Republican and outspoken supporter of Israel, faced Bilzerian, an internet celebrity known for his lavish lifestyle, provocative social media presence and increasingly controversial political rhetoric.
The campaign became particularly ugly after Bilzerian made antisemitic statements and invoked Adolf Hitler, drawing condemnation from figures in both parties. Fine, meanwhile, has generated his own controversies through “inflammatory” comments about Muslims and other political opponents.
In a race that seemed to feature two candidates with unusually large internet personas, Fine ultimately had the advantage of incumbency, Republican establishment support and a substantial campaign operation. Bilzerian spent millions attempting to unseat him but finished a distant second.
