An unfortunate coincidence or something more? NYC stabbing incident takes the life of a Bank of America VP

A Bank of America vice president was fatally stabbed in New York City on Monday afternoon during what police described as a random and unprovoked attack. Erin Piacenti, 32, was attacked near West 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue in the heart of Times Square.
According to the New York Police Department, Piacenti was one of two people stabbed by 49-year-old Pamela Cisneros during the incident. Police said Cisneros was carrying two large knives and attacked a 68-year-old man before stabbing Piacenti only seconds later. The male victim survived his injuries and was hospitalized in stable condition.
Investigators have not identified any relationship between Cisneros and either victim. Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch described the violence as random and unprovoked while authorities continued investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack.
Officers confronted Cisneros after the stabbing and ordered her to drop the weapons. Police initially deployed a Taser, but Cisneros continued advancing toward officers while holding the knives. Officers subsequently opened fire and Cisneros was transported to Bellevue Hospital where she later died.
Piacenti worked as a vice president within Bank of America’s Business Selection and Conflicts unit. She had previously worked in legal and financial roles before joining Bank of America and was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Fordham Law School.
