Dozens of Biden’s pardons and commutations were allegedly signed by autopen: report
A new report from ‘The New York Times’ claims that an autopen was likely used to sign 25 pardons and clemency warrants in the Biden White House

A new report from a mainstream outlet claimed that, upon review of dozens of internal emails regarding the pardons and clemency warrants issued during Joe Biden’s final days in the White House, the autopen was allegedly used for many of those documents.
According to The New York Times, emails reviewed by the outlet allegedly showed that a draft summary of Biden’s supposed decisions on clemency and pardons was sent to a Biden staffer, late at night, who wrote, “I approve the use of the autopen for the execution of all of the following pardons,” in a “reply all” email to other staffers.
It is unclear how involved Joe Biden was in these decisions, per Newsweek, but some of the pardons issued during the twilight hours of the Biden presidency included controversial figures like Dr. Anthony Fauci, General Mark Milley, and members of Joe Biden’s own family.
Biden told the NYT that he did indeed authorize the use of an autopen on these matters. Yet, the decision-making process to issue such commutations has left many critics wondering how involved Biden was, despite his claims.
“If Biden’s people were actually this dumb to hit reply all and authorize the autopen for pardons, they deserve everything coming their way[,]” wrote prominent conservative influence and lawyer Rogan O’Handley. “This is what happens when criminals are in charge for so long[.] They get sloppy[.]”
Young conservative activist Brilyn Hollyhand pointedly commented on X, “This is a breakdown of the presidency. Biden didn’t sign the pardons. He didn’t sign the executive orders. His aides used an autopen to do it for him. That’s not legal. That’s not normal. That’s not democracy. People should be arrested.”
Earlier this year, President Donald Trump weighed in on Joe Biden’s use of the autopen, calling it a “scandal.”
On yet another occasion, while talking about the Biden administration’s autopen use, Trump remarked, “This government was illegally run for four years.”
Biden, for his part, told the NYT that he “made every decision” preempting the use of autopen, and accused President Trump of being “vindictive” on this issue.
