Did the president write Epstein a birthday card?

The House Oversight Committee has released a page from a 2003 “birthday book” assembled for Jeffrey Epstein’s 50th birthday, featuring a note said to be from President Trump. The greeting includes typewritten text set within a drawing of a nude silhouette and ends with the message, “Happy Birthday and may every day be another wonderful secret.” The note also bears what appears to be Trump’s signature.
The image was produced to Congress by Epstein’s estate under subpoena and is part of a larger collection compiled by Ghislaine Maxwell. That album contains images and written contributions from a number of high-profile individuals, including Bill Clinton, Leon Black, Alan Dershowitz, Peter Mandelson, and Les Wexner.
President Trump and the White House have firmly denied that he created or signed the greeting. Press secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “It’s very clear President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it,” adding that legal action is being considered. White House deputy chief of staff Taylor Budowich also argued that the signature does not match Trump’s and labeled the claim defamatory.
Some outlets have suggested similarities between the signature in the album and examples from Trump’s past correspondence, though the White House rejects any connection. No independent forensic examination has yet confirmed the authenticity of the page.
The release of the album has renewed public scrutiny of Epstein’s connections and revived questions about how much documentation of his network remains undisclosed. Lawmakers say the disclosure is part of an ongoing effort to provide transparency about Epstein’s activities and those within his orbit.
