Hollywood actor Chris Pratt delivered a dose of common sense during a recent appearance on Bill Maher’s “Club Random” podcast, shutting down sentiments of partisan-fueled hatred and aiming, instead, for a more “reasonable” approach.
The actor, known for roles in films like “Jurassic World,” “The Terminal List,” and “The Tomorrow War,” discussed President Trump’s administration and touched lightly on U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s mission to restore health in America and remove artificial dyes, chemicals, and over-processing in food.
“I hope there are certain things that he oversees that seem to be supported in a bipartisan way, like getting terrible, toxic stuff out of our kids’ food. I think that’s a great thing. And so, like, just – if you just do that, that’s amazing,” he said.
Pratt continued, “I’d hate to be so mired in hatred for the president that any success from his administration is something I’d have an allergic reaction to. To be like, ‘Oh, well, if they do it, I don’t want it to happen! I’ll put Clorox in my children’s cereal myself!’”
The actor, who is married to Katherine Schwarzenegger, the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, noted that people should be “reasonable.”
Mr. Schwarzenegger preceded his time as the 38th governor of California by starring in action films like “Terminator” and “Total Recall.” Shriver is a relative of the Kennedy family through her mother, who was a sister of the late President John F. Kennedy.
“There are certain things that would be a good thing to have – I want them all to be successful,” Pratt said, when discussing the Trump administration.
Pratt has been vocal in the past about his faith as a Christian, setting him apart from the majority of Hollywood.
“I care enough about Jesus to take a stand, even if it costs me. It could cost me everything, but I don’t care. It’s worth it to me because this is what I’m called to do, it’s where my heart is,” he told The Christian Post this spring.
