This week, President Donald Trump oversaw the completion of two lovely flagpoles at the White House, one for each of the South and North Lawns, as a personal gift to the People’s House.
“It is my Great Honor to announce that I will be putting up two beautiful Flag Poles on both sides of the White House, North and South Lawns,” the president wrote on Truth Social preceding the flag-raising. “It is a GIFT from me of something which was always missing from this magnificent place.”
On Wednesday, the flag flew brilliantly over the White House lawns, where media and construction crews gathered with the president to oversee completion of the project.
“These are the most magnificent poles made – They are tall, tapered, rust proof, rope inside the pole, and of the highest quality,” Trump explained on Truth Social. “Hopefully, they will proudly stand at both sides of the White House for many years to come!”
During the flag-raising ceremony, President Donald Trump was joined by several members of his family, including his eldest daughter, Ivanka. He saluted the massive American flag as it was raised just outside the White House, billowing beneath a cloudy sky on a breezy day.
The president even stopped to shake hands and take pictures with the construction workers who helped erect the new flagpoles at the White House. It was a very heartfelt moment for the president.
“Let’s see how real people work,” Trump told the press, praising the construction crew.
One worker on-site could be heard telling President Trump, “Thanks for bringing America back again!”
These new flagpoles are not the only addition President Trump has planned for the White House. He said in early June that he would be building a new ballroom at the White House, “compliments of a man known as Donald J. Trump” during his term.
“These are the ‘fun’ projects I do while thinking about the World Economy, the United States, China, Russia, and lots of other Countries, places, and events,” he wrote on Truth Social.
