President Trump says that AI needs just ONE guardrail: himself
President Trump released a testy Truth Social statement on Monday, pushing back on a growing movement calling for the regulation of rapidly developing AI technology.

President Donald Trump on Monday responded to a growing movement aimed at regulating artificial intelligence (AI) as the technology grows at a shockingly rapid clip.
“The only control or ‘guardrails’ that AI needs is a STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT, and the U.S.A. has that, in spades!” he wrote in a social media statement.
The president continued, “The Trump Administration has stopped AI ‘people’ from doing bad, or potentially bad, ‘things,’ like Dario (Anthropic!), who is now pretending to be a ‘perfect little angel’ – and we will continue to do so!”
His comments come amid an upswell of concern about the future of AI, spurring national conversations about whether the tech should be regulated to protect the safety of human civilization.
This concern was magnified last week when former Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon announced his resignation over alleged red flags during his time with OpenAI and Anthropic.
“Do not underestimate the power of this technology,” he wrote in a public statement addressing his resignation. “These will soon be superhuman systems that can hack anything, revolutionize any field overnight, and acquire real power and resources. We have all witnessed the progress in each of these domains, and progress is not slowing. The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt. If anything, many executives and senior researchers will couch their phrasing in the press to sound sensible – but I hear the same people express fear privately. No other human activity poses this level of danger.”
As reported by LindellTV, there are more than 570 data centers planned or under construction in the United States right now. These monstrous facilities are often tens of thousands of acres and draw heavily from the power grid and local water utilities.
In his statement on Monday, President Trump said that the federal apparatus has regulatory control over these companies already.
“We already have tremendous CRIMINAL and REGULATORY power over these companies!” he argued. “There is a SICK conspiracy going on against AI and Data Centers, and the only one that is happy about it is China. WHOEVER WINS AI, WINS! We are leading China, and all others, and will continue to do so. Conspiracy Theorists, Treasonists, Traitors, and Leakers, BEWARE!”
