REP SUMMER LEE: PROTECTING ILLEGAL ALIENS IS PART OF MY “MORAL CODE”

When asked by our reporter, @AlisonintheKnow, why she appears more focused on defending ICE detainees than Americans harmed by crimes committed by illegal immigrants, @RepSummerLee initially said she was fighting for the Constitution.

But when pressed on whether the Constitution actually requires protecting people who entered the country illegally, Lee gave a different answer:

“I think actually it’s just in my moral code to do that.”

So when given the choice between a constitutional argument and a personal one, Lee’s answer was clear: Illegal detainees > American victims.
