The Great American State Fair, long anticipated by patriotic Americans, stands to transform the National Mall in Washington, D.C., into a sprawling, 16-day celebration of America’s 250th birthday fit for the Founding Fathers.
Scheduled to kick off on June 25, 2026, the event won’t conclude until July 10, after America’s 250th Independence Day celebration.
“This once-in-a-generation celebration will feature live music, carnival rides, and dozens of hands-on partner activations, where visitors can taste, touch, and experience what makes each state and territory unique,” the event page for the fair states.
A full schedule of each day’s events is available on the event website. Each day is themed, such as “American Canon: The Opening Day” and “Everyday Health and Well Being | MAHA Monday.”
On Wednesday, July 1, for example, the day is titled, “Faith, Values, and Inspiration.”
This day “shines a light on the beliefs, traditions and stories that fuel the American Spirit. Bold, uplifting, and full of heart, it celebrates the ideas and convictions that continue to move America forward,” the site noted.
And on Wednesday, Freedom 250 – the official organization spearheading all official nationwide celebrations for this semiquincentennial – rolled out the official musical lineup for the event: Martina McBride, Young MC, C+C Music Factory, Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli, The Commodores, Morris Day & The Time, Flo Rida, Bret Michaels, and more.
It was later announced that McBride, Michaels, Young MC, and others had dropped out of the event, citing partisanship as an alleged problem, per Entertainment.
Tickets for this event are free, but will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Grab tickets here.
It will be a family-friendly event and, as the site explained, feature carnival-style attractions. According to some renderings that have surfaced online, it may include echoes of yesteryear’s famed World Fair exhibitions – built not just to accommodate, but to entertain.
Freedom 250 has been hard at work organizing many events across the nation this year, including a huge prayer event in D.C., “Rededicate 250,” and a moving Memorial Day Observance candlelight event.
As the FIFA World Cup visits the United States, Washington, D.C., will also have a “FIFA World Cup Fan Zone” on the National Mall this summer, from June 11 to June 19, Axios reported this week.
