President Donald Trump isn’t playing any games when it comes to cracking down on crime and lawlessness in Minnesota, and to drive his point home, he announced on Monday that he will be sending Border Czar Tom Homan to the embattled state to take over operations.
“I am sending Tom Homan to Minnesota tonight,” the president announced on Truth Social. “He has not been involved in that area, but knows and likes many of the people there. Tom is tough but fair, and will report directly to me.”
Homan will additionally coordinate with those spearheading the investigations looking into the jaw-dropping reports of alleged fraud in the state of Minnesota, according to the White House.
The update comes amid rising tensions in Minneapolis following the shooting of Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old man who allegedly approached federal agents during immigration operations. According to NBC, Pretti, who was reportedly armed with a handgun, was shot when he refused to allow agents to disarm him.
This is the second civilian-related ICE shooting in Minneapolis.
The first incident occurred when Renee Nicole Good, 37, allegedly attempted to run her SUV over a federal law enforcement agent, sparking defensive shots from the officer, resulting in Good’s death.
Leftists have taken to the streets to riot and further attempt to disrupt operations on immigration enforcement in the wake of these incidents.
President Trump, on Sunday, called on embattled Democrat Minnesota Governor Tim Walz – who bowed out of a gubernatorial reelection race following the rampant reports of billion-dollar fraud in his state – to cooperate with federal authorities.
“Governor Walz and Mayor Frey should turn over all Criminal Illegal Aliens that are currently incarcerated in their State Prisons and Jails to Federal Authorities, along with all Illegal Criminals with an active warrant or known Criminal History, for Immediate Deportation,” the president said.
Following President Trump’s Sunday statement, he announced that Gov. Walz called him and that he had agreed to “work together with respect to Minnesota.”
“I told Governor Walz that I would have Tom Homan call him, and that what we are looking for are any and all Criminals that they have in their possession,” the president revealed.
He continued, “The Governor, very respectfully, understood that, and I will be speaking to him in the near future. He was happy that Tom Homan was going to Minnesota, and so am I!”
