New footage has emerged of the tense moment leading up to the fatal shooting of Nicole Renee Good, a 37-year-old woman who was killed after allegedly stalking and impeding federal ICE law enforcement operations in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
In the footage that has been released online by Alpha News, Good is seen sitting behind the wheel of her SUV with a dog in the backseat. She appeared to be actively taunting law enforcement and blocking the road – although it is still unclear what she was actually doing in that position.
“That’s fine, dude,” she says in the video, speaking to a law enforcement agent who appears to have been filming the moment. “I’m not mad at you.”
Another woman in the video, who was filming the officer, engaged in taunting. She remarked, “That’s okay, we don’t change our plates every morning, just so you know! It will be the same plate when you come talk to us later, that’s fine…you want to come at us? You want to come at us? I say get yourself some lunch, big boy. Go ahead.”
Good’s companion appears to have been her wife, although this is not confirmed.
At that point in the video, the officer responds by telling Good to “get out of the car.” The second woman then appeared to attempt to get into the front passenger’s seat of the SUV.
The second woman also yelled, “Drive, baby, DRIVE, DRIVE!”
Despite repeated directions to “get out of the car,” Good put the SUV into reverse. She backed up and then threw the car forward, potentially in an attempt to get away from the officer as her companion was shouting at her to “drive.”
However, at that point, the video moves quickly. The car was seen lurching forward.
The officer is also heard firing off a gunshot as the SUV rams near him or over him – it is unclear. The footage then cuts off.
It appears obvious in the video that Good and her companion not only actively taunted law enforcement before the shooting but also defied repeated requests to exit the vehicle. Instead, Good attempted to escape, which prompted a reaction from the agent on the ground.
The situation has sparked widespread unrest by leftists in Minnesota, but the Trump administration has been broadly firm on its position that the shooting of Good, while tragic, was a tragedy of her own making.
With the emergence of the video on social media on Friday, Vice President J.D. Vance responded, “Watch this, as hard as it is. Many of you have been told this law enforcement officer wasn’t hit by a car, wasn’t being harassed, and murdered an innocent woman. The reality is that his life was endangered and he fired in self defense.”
In a previous press briefing shortly following the shooting – which happened on Wednesday – Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem told the press that Good had allegedly been stalking ICE agents all day prior to the incident that sparked the officer’s actions.
“Everyone who lost their nerve and pretended like this was a random mom = worthless, or worse, subversive,” remarked conservative commentator Mike Cernovich, reacting to the footage of the shooting.
“Relatable” host Allie Beth Stuckey also posited on X, “Her girlfriend taunts the officer, then, when he’s right in front of the car, she yells, ‘Drive, baby! Drive, drive!’ Truly tragic that these women had been radicalized by a fake narrative of political vigilantism.”
She added, “This is what happens to people who have no real moral grounding, no transcendent purpose. They get whipped up into violent political causes, develop a lionized self-image due to online discourse about ‘fighting Nazis,’ and become totally untethered to reality.”
