Trump to go on patrol with D.C. law enforcement tonight

President Donald Trump announced that he will patrol the streets of Washington, D.C., tonight in coordination with law enforcement and military personnel. He confirmed the plan during an interview earlier in the day.

The decision follows a recent federal takeover of the city’s police department, under which federal agents and National Guard forces were deployed throughout the capital. Although courts have limited some aspects of the takeover, the administration has maintained a significant federal presence.

The increased patrols are part of a broader campaign by the administration to reinforce control over areas described as high-crime zones, with a particular focus on major urban centers.
