President Donald Trump made news last week after announcing that he had moved to fire
“Biden Appointee” Bureau of Labor Statistics Commissioner Erika McEntarfer, accusing her of slanting jobs reports for political reasons.
His fiery post on the matter came after a jobs report was released last week by the bureau that appeared less-than-rosy for the U.S. economy.
“This is the same Bureau of Labor Statistics that overstated the Jobs Growth in March 2024 by approximately 818,000 and, then again, right before the 2024 Presidential Election, in August and September, by 112,000,” Trump wrote in a statement.
The report claimed that unemployment rose slightly, while simultaneously, only 73,000 jobs were added to the U.S. economy in July, falling below expectations, according to CNBC. The report also said that June and May job growth was down by a total of 258,000, but the president has disputed that number.
“Similar things happened in the first part of the year, always to the negative,” he noted.
The president also noted how the economy was “BOOMING” under his trade and tariff policies. As reported by LindellTV, Trump’s policies have generated $150 billion in revenue for the United States in just a few months. His administration has also secured trillions of dollars in investments from companies like Apple and Hyundai, among many others.
Following her firing, McEntarfer released a statement addressing the situation and posted it to to the social media site “Bluesky.”
“It has been the honor of my life to serve as Commissioner of BLS alongside the many dedicated civil servants tasked with measuring a vast and dynamic economy. It is vital and important work and I thank them for their service to this nation,” she said.
“[McEntarfer] will be replaced with someone much more competent and qualified. Important numbers like this must be fair and accurate, they can’t be manipulated for political purposes,” the president continued.
In a second statement on Monday, Trump called the jobs report “RIGGED” and again drew a parallel to the jobs report that was released just before the 2024 presidential election when Joe Biden was in office.
“That’s why, in both cases, there was massive, record setting revisions, in favor of the Radical Left Democrats,” he explained. “Those big adjustments were made to cover up, and level out, the FAKE political numbers that were CONCOCTED in order to make a great Republican Success look less stellar!!!”
Trump promised to pick an “exceptional replacement” as commissioner of BLS.
