UFC: White House Edition? Trump floats ideas for America’s 250th birthday celebration
President Trump’s suggestion, if brought to fruition, would mark the first time such a sporting event would be held at the White House

President Donald Trump had fun on Thursday evening while speaking at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, floating an interesting idea that may get fans of UFC excited for more than a few reasons.
While discussing next year’s anticipated 250th anniversary event of the United States of America, the president told Iowa attendees of a “Salute to America” event that he was considering hosting a UFC fight at the White House in 2026.
Trump – a longtime fan of UFC fights – broached the idea with a grin.
“Does anybody watch UFC – the great Dana White?” he asked. “…We’re going to have a UFC fight, think of this, on the grounds of the White House.”
Trump said Dana White, the CEO OF UFC, will help build and organize the event.
The president said it would be a “championship fight” with at least 20,000 to 25,000 people in attendance.
Such an idea is certainly unique, and it would mark the first time the White House has hosted a formal sporting championship.
President Trump is a close friend to Dana White, so it may come as no surprise that he would want to host such an event at the White House next year. In fact, shortly after the president’s comments on Thursday night, White shared the clip of Trump’s comments on social media, seemingly suggesting that he would be willing to take on the task.
The president also discussed the National Garden of American Heroes – an idea he discussed while campaigning for president in 2024.
“We’re going to be officially opening the National Garden of American Heroes – a vast outdoor park featuring statues of the greatest Americans who ever lived,” he said, looking ahead to next year’s celebratory events.
“We’re not going to be tearing down, we’re going to be building up,” Trump said earlier this year, while discussing the project.
