UN commissioner calls US strikes on narco-terrorists ‘unacceptable’
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk said on Friday that the United States’ strikes against narco-terrorists in the Caribbean are ‘unacceptable’

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has criticized the United States’ military actions against narco-terrorist vessels attempting to transport deadly drugs into America, calling the operations “unacceptable.”
“These attacks – and their mounting human cost – are unacceptable,” said High Commissioner Volker Turk.
He added, “The US must halt such attacks and take all measures necessary to prevent the extrajudicial killing of people aboard these boats, whatever the criminal conduct alleged against them.”
This comes as the US military has exacted a series of lethal kinetic strikes on narco-terrorist vessels against designated terrorist organization-linked boats.
In a statement announcing the most recent strike, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said, “The Western Hemisphere is no longer a safe haven for narco-terrorists bringing drugs to our shores to poison Americans. The Department of War will continue to hunt them down and eliminate them wherever they operate.”
In his critical statement, Turk argued that the United States could not use lethal force: “Under international human rights law, the intentional use of lethal force is only permissible as a last resort against individuals who pose an imminent threat to life.”
However, under President Donald Trump’s administration, deadly drug cartels are now designated terrorist organizations (DTOs), which allows the US military to take action against this threat.
Such policies have increased safety and security on American soil, according to multiple government agencies. For example, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem said last week during an anti-terrorism roundtable that fentanyl trafficking into the United States has decreased by 50 percent since the president took office.
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard also detailed the reality of who these deadly drug cartel members are: human traffickers, murderers, and extortionists.
As reported by LindellTV, thanks to the Office of National Intelligence and its coordination with federal law enforcement, high-profile cartel ring leaders like El Pato (an alleged kidnapper and drug trafficker linked to the Sinaloa cartel) and El Diabla (an alleged baby trafficker) have been arrested.
The narco-terrorists aboard the vessels that have been struck are directly linked to DTOs like this – Tren de Aragua and other identified narco-terrorist networks.
And yet, Turk said in his statement, “Based on the very sparse information provided publicly by the US authorities, none of the individuals on the targeted boats appeared to pose an imminent threat to the lives of others or otherwise justified the use of lethal armed force against them under international law.”
It is unlikely that the United States, under the Trump administration, will pay the UN any heed on this issue.
“We won’t stop until the threat has been fully and completely eliminated,” President Trump vowed last week.
