Following an alarming shooting near the White House complex over the weekend, the alleged shooter, Nasire Best, seems to have had a chilling record of behavior

Over the weekend, the U.S. Secret Service responded to a shooting threat near the White House, marking the third such incident this year involving proximity to high-ranking U.S. officials.
The incident took place on Saturday night, when an alleged gunman, Nasire Best, 21, apparently approached the White House and removed a gun from a bag. He opened fire but was stopped by the Secret Service. Best was fatally wounded. The Secret Service said in its initial statement about the incident that a bystander was also struck by gunfire.
President Trump was inside the White House at the time of the incident.
“Thank you to our great Secret Service and Law Enforcement for the swift and professional action taken this evening against a gunman near the White House, who had a violent history and possible obsession with our Country’s most cherished structure,” President Trump wrote on Truth Social following the incident.
According to The New York Times, the suspect, Best, was known to law enforcement and was arrested last July for attempting to walk into a restricted area at the White House complex. That wasn’t his only incident, either. He was also issued a “stay away” order regarding the White House grounds, the outlet noted.
Best’s murky mental state apparently extended to religious fixation, with court records showing he told officers last year that he believed he was “Jesus Christ.”
President Trump used the incident on Saturday night to apparently push for increased security at the White House, amid his ongoing bid to build a White House Ballroom.
“This event is one month removed from the White House Correspondent’Dinner shooting, and goes to show how important it is, for all future Presidents, to get, what will be, the most safe and secure space of its kind ever built in Washington, D.C,” the president wrote. “The National Security of our Country demands it!”
Last month, a gunman pushed through a security checkpoint at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, leading to an exchange of fire with U.S. Secret Service agents. Chillingly, the president’s senior cabinet, as well as the First Lady of the United States, was in attendance when this incident took place.
The alleged shooter, Cole Tomas Allen, 31, of California, was arrested and has since been charged, as previously reported on LindellTV.
