EPA to revoke Obama era “endangerment finding”

The Environmental Protection Agency announced today it will formally revoke its 2009 “endangerment finding” that declared greenhouse gases harmful to human health and welfare.
The decision, led by EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, removes the legal basis for regulating emissions from vehicles, power plants and other major sources under the Clean Air Act.
Zeldin described the move as the largest deregulation action in U.S. history, calling into question regulations developed over the past decade and a half.
The announcement came at a factory event in Indiana and during a podcast appearance where he referred to the existing climate rules as part of the “climate change religion.”
Environmental groups and Democratic lawmakers immediately pledged legal action. They argue that repeal of the scientific finding undermines decades of public health protections and contradicts established scientific consensus.
