U.S. District Judge refuses to unseal Epstein grand jury transcripts

A federal judge in West Palm Beach, Florida, has denied the Justice Department’s request to unseal grand jury transcripts from the 2005–2007 Jeffrey Epstein investigation.
Judge Robin Rosenberg ruled that the DOJ did not meet the “exceptional circumstances” required to breach grand jury secrecy under 11th Circuit precedent.
In a separate but related case, U.S. District Judge Paul Engelmayer in Manhattan requested further justification from the DOJ on its push to release grand jury records tied to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
The judge ordered the department to submit additional arguments by July 29, including details on whether victims and other involved parties had been consulted.
The decisions come amid growing public and political pressure to release all information tied to Epstein’s alleged network of abuse.
For now, no grand jury records will be unsealed. The courts are weighing privacy concerns, legal protections for grand jury secrecy, and the rights of victims before any further action is taken.
