Planned Parenthood endorses Amy Klobuchar, but she doesn’t even know what they do

In a move that surprises absolutely no one, the nation’s largest abortion provider has officially thrown its support behind Senator Amy Klobuchar in her bid for Minnesota governor. Planned Parenthood Action Fund announced its endorsement of the Minnesota Democrat, continuing a long-standing alliance between the liberal political establishment and the abortion industry.
Yet, the announcement exposed a glaring ignorance regarding what these clinics actually do. In her statement accepting the endorsement, Klobuchar repeated a patently false talking point by claiming that the organization provides critical healthcare services like mammograms.
There is just one problem with that claim: Planned Parenthood does not perform mammograms. Not a single one of their facilities nationwide is equipped with mammography machines.
This gaffe is not new for corporate Democrats. For years, politicians on the left have attempted to shield the abortion giant from public scrutiny by rebranding it as a comprehensive women’s healthcare provider. They routinely list mammograms alongside cancer screenings to make the organization appear indispensable to women’s basic health needs.
The reality remains vastly different. Women who visit Planned Parenthood seeking a mammogram are simply handed a referral to a real medical facility that possesses the necessary radiological equipment. Meanwhile, the organization continues to focus heavily on its most lucrative service: ending the lives of unborn children.
How ironic that Klobuchar would accept a high-profile endorsement without understanding the basic nature of the group providing it. The senator’s rhetoric is a convenient cover for an industry that claims it is all about women’s health, but is in fact a leading killer of women in our generation through abortion.
For an organization that terminates hundreds of thousands of pregnancies annually, the political cover provided by Washington lawmakers is vital. Repeating the myth of Planned Parenthood mammograms allows politicians to sanitize an enterprise built on abortion.
