The United States of America continued its military strikes against Iran over the weekend, furthering the objectives of Operation Epic Fury, and drawing a warning from President Donald Trump about the fog of war.
“Iran has long been known as a Master of Media Manipulation and Public Relations,” the president wrote on Truth Social. “They are Militarily ineffective and weak, but are really good at ‘feeding’ the very appreciative Fake News Media false information. Now, A.I. has become another Disinformation weapon that Iran uses, quite well, considering they are being annihilated by the day.”
The president referenced an AI-fueled rumor that the USS Abraham Lincoln was “burning uncontrollably in the Ocean.”
“Not only was it not burning, it was not even shot at — Iran knows better than to do that!” President Trump remarked in his statement.
He added, “The story was knowingly FAKE and, in a certain way, you can say that those Media Outlets that generated it should be brought up on Charges for TREASON for the dissemination of false information!”
CENTCOM also offered a video on Monday of fighter jets being launched from the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln, proving that the carrier was in fine operational condition:
“For 16 days we’ve delivered overwhelming firepower deep into Iran,” said CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper in a Monday morning update.
He continued, “This past Friday, U.S. forces executed a large-scale precision strike on Kharg Island, destroying more than 90 Iranian military targets, including storage bunkers for naval mines and missiles, and other military infrastructure. To date, our Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps Aviators have collectively flown more than 6,000 combat flights, demonstrating the unmatched capability of America’s joint force, as we maintain air superiority over Iranian skies.”
Adm. Cooper gave several examples of how the U.S. military was continuing to erode Iran’s defense industrial base, providing before-and-after photos of key targets in the region that had been decimated by U.S. air strikes, like Iranian attack drone factories and military depots.
“We’re also zeroed in on dismantling Iran’s decades-old threat to the free flow of commerce through the Strait of Hormuz,” he said.
According to Adm. Cooper, the U.S. military has destroyed more than 100 Iranian naval vessels, and this work will continue.
“Our progress remains steady, and we remain vigilant against the enemy,” he stated, applauding the 50,000 Americans who are deployed across the Middle East, “executing this vital mission.”
CENTCOM’s critical update comes after Secretary of War Pete Hegseth confirmed that the U.S., working together with joint partners in the Israel Defense Forces, had struck more than 15,000 enemy targets as of last Friday, amounting to over 1,000 targets daily.
