President Trump welcomed in The U.K.

President Donald Trump was formally welcomed in Britain today with a full ceremonial display at Windsor Castle, marking the beginning of his second state visit to the United Kingdom. He is the first American president to receive two state visit invitations from a living British monarch.
The ceremony included a carriage procession through the castle grounds, an inspection of the guard of honor, and a joint flypast by U.S. and UK fighter jets. More than a thousand members of the British Armed Forces took part, along with over a hundred horses, in what officials called one of the most elaborate welcomes in recent years.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer has framed the visit as an opportunity to strengthen economic and defense ties. A major technology and trade agreement is expected to be announced, potentially bringing tens of billions of pounds in new investment into artificial intelligence, quantum research, and nuclear energy cooperation.
The day’s events were not without tension. Demonstrators gathered in London, and earlier this week protest images were projected onto Windsor Castle, resulting in several arrests. Still, British officials stressed that the invitation reflects the importance of the U.S.–UK relationship, regardless of political differences.
For Trump, the welcome underscores his continued influence on the global stage and signals a willingness by Britain’s new government to engage with Washington on high-profile issues. The visit is set to continue with meetings at Downing Street and a state banquet hosted by King Charles III.
