The new direction of the U.S. against China

The United States is taking a new direction in its approach toward China. President Trump announced yesterday a major new arms sale to Taiwan.
The administration has approved an arms package valued at roughly $11 billion, the largest single weapons sale to Taiwan to date. The deal includes advanced rocket systems, artillery, anti tank weapons, drones, and other military equipment intended to strengthen Taiwan’s ability to deter a potential invasion or blockade by China.
U.S. officials made clear that the sale is a defensive measure consistent with long standing American policy to help Taiwan maintain sufficient self defense capabilities. They emphasized that the package is designed to raise the cost of aggression and preserve stability in the Taiwan Strait at a time of heightened Chinese military activity near the island.
Taiwanese leaders have welcomed the announcement, saying the weapons will enhance deterrence and give Taiwan greater confidence in resisting coercion from Beijing. The sale also aligns with Taiwan’s broader push toward asymmetric defense strategies that focus on mobility and survivability.
