White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed over the weekend that the executive office is investigating the early release of a convicted criminal who left a Kentucky family emotionally scarred and traumatized.
Ronald Exantus, 42, was previously convicted of second-degree assault in the death of a six-year-old Kentucky boy in 2015, after breaking into a house and stabbing him to death, Fox News reported. He was not found guilty of murder due to arguments of “insanity,” per the outlet.
Despite such a violent crime, Exantus was released early for “good behavior,” although he had only begun serving his prison sentence in 2018.
Daily Wire commentator Matt Walsh drew attention to this story recently, calling it “one of the most heinous miscarriages of justice in American history.”
Walsh wrote on X, “Logan Tipton is the victim. He was six years old. Ronald Exantus broke into his house and stabbed him in the head while he slept. Now he’s out of prison and walking free.”
He added, “Logan Tipton’s name should be famous. The names of every judge and prosecutor who allowed this to happen should be infamous. This story should be viral the way that Iryna’s was. This case is somehow even worse — much, much worse.”
Logan Tipton’s father, Dean Tipton, tearfully told WLKY-TV that he has already made up his mind to kill Exantus should he ever cross his path.
“I’ve had my talks with God, ‘cause I’m not afraid to tell you what I told the court: If I ever cross paths with him, I will the man. I will kill him where he stands,” he said.
As the case has gained national attention since Exantus’s seemingly outrageous early release, Press Secretary Leavitt confirmed that the White House is looking into the situation.
“It’s wholly unacceptable for a child killer to walk free after just several years in prison,” she said on X.
