Epstein survivors speak on Capitol Hill today

Survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse took the floor on Capitol Hill to demand the complete release of government files related to his sex trafficking operations. The testimony was part of a rally organized by a bipartisan group of lawmakers, including Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), who have introduced the Epstein Files Transparency Act. The legislation seeks to compel the Department of Justice to release all documents concerning Epstein and his associates, while protecting victims’ identities.
During the session, several survivors spoke publicly for the first time about their experiences. Marina Lacerda, formerly known as “minor victim one,” expressed frustration over the government’s control of documents that could aid in her healing process. She stated, “There are people out there who know more about my abuse than I do.”
Rep. Massie criticized the Justice Department’s previous release of over 33,000 pages, arguing that much of the information had already been public and suggesting the release had been curated to protect powerful individuals. Rep. Khanna emphasized the need for bipartisan support to ensure transparency and justice for the victims.
The survivors and lawmakers continue to push for full disclosure of all Epstein-related files, seeking accountability and closure for those affected by his crimes.
