POTUS threatens to bomb Oman, urges Iran to raise ‘white flag of surrender’
Monday marked an important deadline in the timeframe to establish a broader peace deal with Iran. Amid ongoing negotiations, President Trump has indicated that he is in no hurry to ink a deal.

Amid reports that Iran may be talking with Oman about a deal regarding the Strait of Hormuz, President Donald Trump told Fox News’ Trey Yingst that he would be willing to bomb them, too.
“If Oman gets in the way, we’ll bomb the sh** out of them,” Yingst quoted the president as saying.
Just last week, President Trump alluded to claiming the Strait of Hormuz as a U.S. territory, seemingly indicating that there could be some kind of American military presence in the key shipping corridor for quite some time.
The president also told the outlet that he wanted to see Iran “raise the white flag of surrender” and emphasized that he had no “time schedule” in achieving a deal with Iran and that he wasn’t “in a hurry.”
On the issue of U.S. munitions in the Middle East, the president said that “what we’ve used so far is peanuts.”
President Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who is also a top negotiator for the U.S. amid ongoing talks with Iran, visited with Hamas leaders on Sunday, just ahead of a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The president said that there was a different channel the U.S. has been using to talk with Hamas, and that “ultimately they are giving up their guns,” when referring to the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip.
Lastly, Yingst said he discussed the upcoming Israeli elections, in which current Prime Minister Netanyahu is up for re-election.
“I think it’s most appropriate for me to stay out of Israeli elections, but I may endorse somebody,” the president told Fox.
Monday marks 60 days since the U.S. and Iran established a memorandum of understanding – a timeframe to reach a broader peace deal. Despite this timeline, the president indicated in the above comments that he seems to have no desire to rush to reach a deal.
