President Trump congratulates VP Vance, Second Lady on birth of baby boy
President Donald Trump extended his congratulations to Vice President J.D. Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, on the birth of their fourth child.

Vice President J.D. Vance and his wife, Second Lady Usha Vance, welcomed a new addition to their family on Sunday, marking a historic occasion for the White House administration.
The vice president announced the birth in a statement posted to social media.
“We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning,” he wrote. “Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother.”
Vance thanked the military doctors and staff members at Walter Reed Medical Center and the White House Medical Unit for their help during this time.
The announcement also drew praise from President Donald Trump.
“Congratulations!” President Trump wrote on Truth Social, sharing the first photo of the newborn, along with two of his siblings. “A perfect baby boy for the wonderful Vance family.”
The birth is a historic milestone. It is the first time since the 1800s that a sitting vice president has welcomed a baby in the White House, when Vice President Schuyler Colfax and his wife, Ellen Wade, welcomed their son in 1870, according to the Associated Press.
Colfax served during the administration of President Ulysses S. Grant.
Interestingly, the first and only child of a sitting U.S. president to be born in the White House was Esther Cleveland in 1893, the daughter of President Grover Cleveland and First Lady Frances Cleveland.
The Vance’s newest addition comes amid a swell of births within the Trump administration. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, for example, recently gave birth to her second child this spring. White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller also welcomed his fourth child with wife Katie Miller; top Trump advisor James Blair is additionally expecting his fourth child with his wife.
