Dept of War identifies two fallen Army casualties following ‘enemy attack’ in Jordan
The War Department on Monday released the identities of two fallen American soldiers who were killed in the line of duty while serving in Jordan.

The U.S. Department of War on Monday revealed the identities of two young American Army soldiers who were killed in action over the weekend during “an enemy attack” at the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan.
The fallen are 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carollton, Texas.
The fallen warriors were supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, according to the War Department. This kinetic operation is a combined joint task force effort comprised of more than 80 nations. It aims to strengthen coalition forces’ capabilities to resist ISIS in Syria and Iraq.
According to the U.S. Central Command, one American servicemember additionally went missing following the strike, which was identified as an Iranian attack. On Sunday, CENTCOM noted that U.S. military personnel had found unidentified remains, but the process of verification was still ongoing.
A U.S. servicemember in northern Iraq was also killed over the weekend during a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone, CENTCOM said.
This tragic news comes amid escalating violence in the Middle East, following a failed ceasefire agreement with the Iranian regime. On Sunday, the U.S. military completed its ninth consecutive night of attacks against Iran. The campaign targeted Iranian missile and drone launch sites, air defense and coastal surveillance sites, and other key hotspots.
“The U.S. military is holding Iran accountable at the Commander in Chief’s direction,” CENTCOM stated.
As of July 2026, at least 14 U.S. servicemembers have been killed in the line of duty since the war with Iran began, according to the U.S. Defense Casualty Analysis System.
The two servicemembers who perished over the weekend, as well as the servicemember who was killed during the controlled detonation in northern Iraq, would bring the unofficial total up to 17.
