The trouble continues for Eric Swalwell

Recent financial disclosures show a high volume of alcohol purchases by Representative Eric Swalwell. These expenditures appear in his latest campaign finance reports which detail thousands of dollars spent at liquor stores and upscale bars. Many of these transactions took place at luxury hotels and private clubs, or through liquor delivery services.
The American public ought to question the use of donor funds for these items. Campaign contributions should focus on election activities, not fueling a politician’s drinking problem. This spending may very well be a violation of federal rules which prohibit the personal use of campaign donations by candidates.
The campaign has responded to these reports, maintaining that the expenses were necessary for “donor outreach”. They also state that all purchases were fully documented. This report comes during a challenging time for the congressman who recently announced the suspension of his campaign for governor. Public scrutiny of his financial records continues to grow.
