OPINION: We have bigger fish to fry than UFOs
The DOW dropped a batch of so-called ‘UFO files’ on Friday, prompting national conversations about extraterrestrial or even celestial beings. Does this matter at all? Should Americans care?

Aliens.
For decades, mankind has asked one singular, resounding question: Are humans alone in the universe? It’s an age-old inquiry, and it’s a safe bet that ancient civilizations had a better answer to this question than modern, sanitized culture is willing to admit.
In light of Friday’s cache of newly declassified “UFO files” from the Department of War, this interagency unveiling has set tongues wagging about the possibility of extraterrestrial or, perhaps, celestial lifeforms dallying within the human dimension.
Once a pie-in-the-sky conspiracy, the topic of UFOs and potentially alien or spiritual activity in the skies is a commonplace conversation, acknowledged by the federal government, and widely reported on by media outlets around the world.
The files on Friday weren’t exactly shocking. It simply confirmed the reality of what years of congressional testimony have already discussed, namely, unexplainable aerial vessels, vehicles, or beings of some kind, both in Earth’s atmosphere and just off the lunar surface of the Moon.
As reported by LindellTV, many images of these supposed UFOs were published in the first tranche of declassified documents. One video in particular went viral, depicting a circular object, like an eight-pointed star, moving mysteriously through the skies. Another video showed a UFO “playing” in a field of windmills. Yet another file showed what appeared to be shaped light forms off the surface of the moon during the Apollo 17 mission.
What does any of this mean? Clearly, it points to the presence of something that humans are having a hard time understanding.
“I am emphatically *not* asserting this with a certainty,” wrote Lakepointe Church Pastor Josh Howerton on X. “What I am trying to point out is the very possible overlap between a Biblical cosmology and some of the things you’re seeing on your timeline. Look at that picture of a ‘chandelier UFO’ and then read these 3 verses from Ezekiel describing cherubim.”
He referred to the Biblical passage of Ezekiel 1:15-17, in which the ancient prophet describes looking upon an angel that closely matches the description of the mysterious circular, eight-pointed UAP in the files released on Friday:
“Now as I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the earth beside the living creatures, one for each of the four of them. As for the appearance of the wheels and their construction: their appearance was like the gleaming of beryl. And the four had the same likeness, their appearance and construction being as it were a wheel within a wheel. When they went, they went in any of their four directions without turning as they went.”
Speculation about these aerial phenomena is rampant, but one thing is certain: with all that’s going on in the world, Americans have bigger fish to fry than the debate about whether aliens are real.
American Christians have nothing to fear
Before the drop of the UFO files, the Daily Mail published a report alleging that a secret meeting with US officials and high-profile evangelical leaders had taken place.
“Religious leaders told ‘prepare now’ for UFO disclosure to unleash Bible-changing revelations,” the headline read.
The article implied, based on the allegations of several pastors like Perry Stone and Alan DiDio, that the U.S. government forewarned these faith leaders that the UFO files could upend the Christian faith.
The suggestion is preposterous, since the Bible and the Gospel itself are wholly independent from the modern concept of “aliens.” If anything, the Christian faith confirms the presence of a very real spiritual realm (Eph. 6:12, Rev. 12:7-9, Isaiah 6:2, etc.).
Colossians 1:16 also says this: “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.”
There is nothing in all the universe that is outside the domain of God the Creator. The word “alien” in the context of outer space did not even originate until the early 20th century, arising in science fiction books and later cropping up throughout pop culture as pulpy publications gained popularity.
If what the U.S. government has disclosed so far about UFOs is authentic, then Americans of faith can rest assured: nothing is a surprise to God, because He created this universe. There is nothing to fear.
Bigger fish to fry
The United States is at war with Iran. Gas prices are rising swiftly. Global trade and supply chains are being disrupted to a degree that could quickly become catastrophic. President Trump recently stopped short of threatening to drop a nuclear bomb on Iran, suggesting grimly that if the U.S.-Iran ceasefire failed, the world would know, because there would be a “glow” coming from the Middle East.
The Iran War is a massive crisis for America and for the world. The domestic agenda has largely been pushed aside as the Pentagon scrambles to force the Strait of Hormuz to reopen, much to the detriment of the world’s flow of energy and fertilizer.
Deportations, one of the bedrock promises of the Trump campaign in 2024, have taken a backseat to the war agenda. Housing prices are still too high. Gas prices are rising, tamped down artificially by false market controls amid highly volatile oil markets, thanks to the Middle East war.
That’s not to say that good things aren’t happening, but the messaging isn’t working. America can’t simultaneously have a Golden Age and pay for World War III. Americans can’t live their dreams or have more kids if they can’t buy a house.
And Americans certainly aren’t going to find the solutions to these integral problems by digging through thousands of declassified files about extraterrestrials.
It’s time to get serious, get focused, and get back to the America First agenda.
